Dorinda Cox is a Labor Senator for Western Australia and the Duty Senator for the Federal Electorate of O’Connor, a place deeply tied to her culture, family and story.

Born in Kojonup and having lived in the Goldfields, Dorinda knows first-hand the resilience, pride and tight-knit communities that define regional WA.

Before entering Parliament, she served as a police officer in Kalgoorlie, working on the front line to keep people safe and pushing for better outcomes for women, families and First Nations communities.

Dorinda is the Chair of the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee and serves on the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee, where she brings her lived experience, regional insight and strong community focus to national policy.
