Anniversaries are a very special time in our lives and should be celebrated. Australians celebrating a milestone birthday or wedding anniversary can receive personal congratulations from the Prime Minister, Governor-General or the King.

The King and Governor-General will send a message on a 100th birthday and every year after.
The Prime Minister and Governor-General will send a message to couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary every fifth year after.

You will need to provide supporting documentation to confirm the details of the anniversary or birthday. This may include copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, government ID with date of birth, or a statutory declaration with the relevant names and anniversary details.
Congratulatory messages can be posted directly to the recipient’s home address or alternatively to care-of address (such as a friend or relative) for surprises.
